- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- For the herb butter topping:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the melted butter, sugar, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour, herbs, and knead until a soft dough forms.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape into rolls and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- For the herb butter: Mix butter with chives, rosemary, and salt. Brush over warm rolls before serving.
