Description

Fluffy dinner rolls infused with fresh herbs and topped with melted herb butter for a perfect side dish.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • For the herb butter topping:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the melted butter, sugar, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add the remaining flour, herbs, and knead until a soft dough forms.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape into rolls and place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  8. For the herb butter: Mix butter with chives, rosemary, and salt. Brush over warm rolls before serving.
