For the Crust:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 egg white, beaten (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and vegetable oil, then knead until a smooth dough forms (about 8-10 minutes).
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, shape into rolls, and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush rolls with beaten egg white.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crusty.
