Description
Bibimbap is a colorful, nutritious, and delicious Korean dish of rice topped with seasoned vegetables, meat, and egg, served with a sweet and savory gochujang sauce.

- 3 cups cooked rice
- 1/2 pound beef (ribeye or sirloin), thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 cup zucchini, julienned
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 4 ounces shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 4 eggs
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the rice according to package instructions and set aside.
- Marinate the beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and garlic for 10-15 minutes.
- Blanch the carrots, spinach, bean sprouts, and zucchini separately in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then drain and season with salt and sesame oil.
- Sauté the mushrooms in a bit of oil until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Cook the marinated beef in a hot pan with oil for 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Fry the eggs sunny-side up in the same pan.
- To assemble, divide the rice into bowls, top with vegetables, beef, and an egg. Add a dollop of gochujang, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and mix before eating.
Notes
Customize with your favorite vegetables. For vegetarian version, omit the beef.
