Description

A flavorful stir-fry of tender steak and colorful peppers, served with creamy macaroni and cheese for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the steak strips and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add bell peppers, onion, and garlic; stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper; pour over the steak and vegetables and cook until sauce thickens.
  5. In a separate pot, boil macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
  6. In the same pot, melt butter, add milk and cheddar cheese, stirring until cheese melts into a creamy sauce.
  7. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
  8. Serve the pepper steak alongside the macaroni cheese.

Notes

For a spicier version, add chili flakes to the steak mixture. Ensure steak is sliced thinly for quick cooking.
