Description

A hearty casserole that combines the flavors of pizza with sausage and pepperoni.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Add the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic powder to the skillet; cook until vegetables are softened.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and cooked pasta; mix well.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture, then half of the pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat layers with the remaining ingredients.
  7. Cover and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

This casserole can be prepared ahead and refrigerated; add 10 minutes to baking time if chilled.
