Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine beef stew meat, beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours until beef is tender.
  3. About 30 minutes before serving, add broccoli florets to the slow cooker.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry, then stir into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  5. Serve hot over rice.

Notes
