- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 pound Velveeta cheese, cubed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and diced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Tortilla chips for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and jalapeno to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, garlic powder, and cumin. Mix well.
- Add the cubed Velveeta cheese and stir continuously until the cheese is completely melted and the mixture is smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and serve warm with tortilla chips.
Notes
For extra spice, add more jalapenos or a dash of hot sauce. This dip is best enjoyed fresh.
