  • Author: Chef Emy
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 (makes about 2 cups) 1x

Description

A tangy, sweet, and spicy sauce made with fresh cranberries and jalapeños, perfect as a condiment for holidays or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, water, and grated ginger over medium heat.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the cranberries have burst.
  3. Stir in the chopped jalapeño and lime juice. Continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Adjust the amount of jalapeño for desired spice level. For a thicker sauce, cook a bit longer. Always taste and adjust sweetness or heat before serving.
