Description

Delicious stuffed bell peppers filled with a savory rice mixture, perfect for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 large bell peppers, tops removed and seeds scooped out
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in cooked rice, half of the tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff the mixture into the bell peppers.
  5. Place peppers in a baking dish, pour remaining tomato sauce over them.
  6. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and sprinkle cheese on top.
  7. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and peppers are tender.

Notes

Experiment with adding spices for extra flavor. Ensure peppers are cooked until tender but not mushy.
