Description

A flavorful Turkish kebab served over rice, including ground turkey or beef mixed with spices and herbs, grilled to perfection and paired with fluffy white rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey or beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground meat, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into kebab shapes or patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the kebabs until browned and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, rinse the rice and cook it in 2 cups of water with a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 15-18 minutes until fluffy.
  5. Serve the kebabs over the rice, garnished with parsley.

Notes

Adjust spices to taste. Kebabs can also be grilled for a smokier flavor.
