For the Crust:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for serving
  • Mayonnaise or your favorite sauce

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Marinate chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, ensuring full coating.
  5. Fry chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
  7. Toast burger buns lightly if desired.
  8. Assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and sauce of choice.
