A delicious twist on classic sloppy joes with the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak, featuring tender beef, melted cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  4. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture over the cheese, then top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
