Description

  • Crust:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Filling:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1½ cups pecans, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Crust:
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms. Press into the baking dish and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Filling:
  6. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then remove from heat.
  7. Stir in vanilla and chopped pecans. Pour over the crust.
  8. Bake for another 20-25 minutes until the edges are bubbly. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

These bars are best served at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They freeze well too!
