- Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Filling:
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup light corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1½ cups pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms. Press into the baking dish and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
- Filling:
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and heavy cream. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla and chopped pecans. Pour over the crust.
- Bake for another 20-25 minutes until the edges are bubbly. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
These bars are best served at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They freeze well too!
