- For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- For the Filling:
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a stand mixer, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until a dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and 1/2 teaspoon salt until smooth.
- Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the filling over the crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the filling is set.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. These bars taste even better the next day!
