A delicious and easy make-ahead breakfast casserole with the flavors of French toast.

For the Crust:
- 1 loaf French bread, cut into cubes
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread the bread cubes evenly in the dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, granulated sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down to ensure all bread is soaked.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Drizzle over the top of the casserole.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and set. Let cool slightly before serving.
