- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla and mashed bananas.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use overripe bananas. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
